by Grail TeamSubmission of the application
The most surprising task towards the end was the text shortening. Almost every section of the application had strict limits on the number of characters. Fears of not having enough supporting evidence for our arguments were long gone when we’re hunting for any obsolete sentence, dependent clause, or word which absence wouldn’t hurt the message. The day before the deadline we squeezed our camel through the eye of the needle and asked Marcin to hit the submit button, and all we got in return was PDF file.
Then we waited for formal acceptance, then for an invitation to the expert panel, then for the panel itself, then for the final results. Our hopes were waning.
